Wonderful activities for winter
Guaranteed to put you in the winter spirit! Here, you can enjoy a proper winter, with snow-covered fairytale landscapes as far as the eye can see, surrounded by a unique, panoramic mountain vista. The Klosters Davos ski area is home to around 300 km of pistes, with snow guaranteed: fall in love with them and enjoy moments you’ll never forget.
Skiing & snowboarding
The seven snowsports areas with 57 lifts and around 300 km of pistes, ranging from blue to red to black, guarantee oodles of winter-sports fun. As a Hotel Vereina guest, you are just a few minutes’ walk away from the valley station for the Gotschna Parsenn cable car. The bus to the Madrisa, Klosters’ family-friendly ski mountain, is also a highly convenient option and stops directly in front of the hotel. You can travel to Davos’ ski areas of Parsenn, Jakobshorn, Rinerhorn, Schatzalp and Pischa free of charge; the best way to get there is with the Rhaetian Railway.
Cross-country skiing
We are the official cross-country skiing hotel of Davos Klosters and are located near the start of around 30 km of trails. The attractive, diverse trails to Alp Novai and back to Klosters are prepared for both cross-country skiing techniques every day. The night-time trail covers 3 km and is open every Tuesday and Thursday, from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm. The Davos Klosters trail network offers a total of 146 km of beautiful trails, with 46 km suitably prepared for skating. Our guests receive a 15% discount when renting cross-country skiing equipment from Andrist Sport, located near the hotel.
Snowshoe hikes, winter hiking & Nordic walking
If you’ve never tried snowshoe hiking, it’s high time you did! All you need is a pair of snowshoes and ski poles – which you can rent from anywhere – and you’re ready to explore pristine, snow-covered winter wonderlands. You will hike along specially marked routes of various lengths, enjoying the peace and quiet. The 156 km of winter hiking trails in Davos and Klosters are cleared regularly. They are also perfect for Nordic-walking training or a fun, regular winter hike.
Carriage rides
Wrapped up warm in cosy blankets, watching the magical winter scenery slowly roll by during your carriage ride: it’s an experience you’ll never forget. The carriage will pick you up from the hotel, so you just need to step on board and you’re ready to go. You’ll fall in love with the magic of the winter landscape immediately. One very popular route takes you to the old Walser village of Monbiel and the peaceful Alp Garfium, with its cosy mountain inn. Reception would be more than happy to book your romantic carriage ride through magical winter surroundings.
Ice hockey
Hotel Vereina is one of the co-sponsors of the Davos Ice Hockey Club (HCD). Make the most of the chance to buy discounted tickets and watch a HCD game: they’re Switzerland’s record-breaking champions. The public artificial ice rink at Klosters Sports Centre is open every day from mid-December to the start of March, and on Friday evenings. It is free to use with our guest card (excluding curling). The sports centre has an artificial ice curling area with four rinks, where curling tournaments take place at regular intervals. You can rent the rinks for private tournaments.
